Our 15th Anniversary!

Our 15th Anniversary is here! We are pleased to celebrate this milestone at Castello di Amorosa. To our loyal Amici del Barone Wine Club members and all who enjoy our wines as part of their celebrations, we extend our sincere thanks for your continued support.

Castello di Amorosa was a 30-year labor of love—a culmination of a lifelong dream to build an authentically styled Tuscan castle in Napa Valley where Italian-style wines could be crafted at the highest level.

“I am extremely pleased with the Castello’s contributions to the world of wine and wine tourism. I set out attempting to create an extraordinary winery and today it is extremely rewarding to see so many customers enjoying the Castello and our wines.”

Castello di Amorosa has become one of the most visited wineries in the world. It has been recognized as Best Tasting Room in America by USA Today (2020) and named the most Instagrammed winery in the world by TheThinkingTraveller.

Additional honors include recognition by Food & Wine Magazine, North Bay Bohemian, Napa Valley Life Magazine, and TripAdvisor for excellence in wine experiences and hospitality.

The Castello experienced a major setback during the Glass Fire of 2020, when a detached building was destroyed. Restoration efforts are underway, with completion expected soon.

Castello di Amorosa was built using antique handmade materials, hand-hewn timbers, and medieval construction techniques. Over 8,000 tons of hand-chiseled stone and materials imported from Europe helped bring authenticity to this one-of-a-kind structure.

The 150,000 square-foot castle spans multiple levels above and below ground, featuring towers, courtyards, a Great Hall with frescoes, and an expansive barrel room with Roman cross-vault ceilings.

While the castle reflects history, the winery itself is equipped with modern fermentation and aging facilities, including underground caves and advanced winemaking technology.

The property was purchased in 1993, and after years of research and planning, construction began. What started as a modest vision grew into a fully realized castle over more than a decade of dedication.

Castello di Amorosa officially opened its doors on April 7, 2007. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and today it stands as one of Napa Valley’s most iconic destinations.

With acclaimed estate vineyards and award-winning wines—including 98-point and 97-point Cabernet Sauvignons—the Castello continues to push excellence forward.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We invite you to visit and celebrate our 15th Anniversary with us in Napa Valley.
